The opposition Patriots for Economic Progress (PeP) has expressed optimism that the dialogue meeting being spearheaded by the Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB) between President Edgar Lungu and UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema will not only address existing political tension, but will also address its underlying causes.

PeP president Sean Tembo has since that advised the ZCCB to ensure that the dialogue only involves the two political parties.

Mr Tembo says this is because the political tension the country is currently facing is between the ruling PF and the United Party for National Development.

Mr. Tembo has stated that in order for the proposed dialogue to succeed, the starting point is to have a few parties involved.

Mr. Tembo has since commended the Catholic Bishops for meeting the incarcerated UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema at Mukobeko Correctional Facility to kick start the dialogue.
