Illegal trade in Mukula tree logs under control- Kapata

Lands Minister Jean Kapata says the illegal trade in Mukula tree logs has been brought under control.

Ms Jean Kapata however, states that officers will continue impounding trucks carrying Mukula logs as well as arresting those involved in the illegal trade.

She says the involvement of security wings has helped curbing the illegal trade in the Mukula logs.

Ms. Kapata has reiterated that government will continue to protect the Mukula tree as a valuable national resource.

The minister has since warned that security wings are still on alert.
