Electoral expert MacDonald Chipenzi has urged the Judicial Complaints Commission (JCC) to release the findings of the investigation into the alleged misconduct and incompetence of Constitutional Court judges brought by various concerned citizens.

Mr. Chipenzi has wondered what has caused the delay to release the findings when the process of hearing petitioners, their witnesses and the judges’ submissions concluded more than six months ago.

He says continued keeping of petitioners in perpetual suspense on this matter is likely to raise additional doubts on the capacities, capability and competencies of the Judicial Complaints Commission to investigate complaints brought by citizens against erring judicial officers and in dispensing justice expeditiously.

He adds that the release of the JCC’s findings to the public will help free the concerned judges from the allegations of incompetence and gross misconduct in the handling of the 2016 presidential election petition.

Mr Chipenzi further states that the release of the findings will further enable the judges to perform their judicial duties with pride, credibility and confidence as they will be freed from perceptions that they mishandled the 2016 presidential election petition.
