Local Government Service Commission Chairperson Amos Musonda has warned that local government workers engaging in active politics will be retired in public interest.
Mr. Musonda says only councillors who are elected officials are allowed to participate in active politics and not workers.
He states that while local government workers have the right to vote, they are not allowed to participate in active politics.
Mr Musonda says the participation of local government workers is totally unacceptable.
