Mbombo signs for Saudi club

Zesco United has concluded a deal with proffesional league side Al – Shabab FC of Saudi Arabia on the the transfer of Congolese striker Idris Mbombo.

Club Media and Public Relations Officer Katebe Chengo confirmed to www.zescounitedfc.com that the transfer transfer agreement between the two clubs was concluded yesterday after almost two weeks of negotiations.

“The Two clubs reached a conclusion on the transfer of Mbombo. The two parties agreed on an outright purchase of the player although we cant disclose the amount and the player has been given a three year contract that goes into effect immediately,” she said.

Chengo said the player is scheduled to leave the country this week and join hi new club in Austria where they are camped for pre-season.

Mbombo joined Zesco United in 2016 on a one year loan transfer before signing a permanent transfer fro Kabwe Warriors FC .

He was influential in the clubs CAF champions league journey scoring 5 goals in the competition and making it to the list of contenders for best player of the year before the the final three were shortlisted.

Mbombo recently issued an apology to Zesco united fans for using profound language after scoring during a week 10 rescheduled match against Real Nakonde.
