CSPR counsels Govt on job creation

The Civil Society for Poverty Reduction (CSPR) has advised government to step up job creation efforts by creating an enabling environment for the private sector to thrive.

CSPR Resource Governance Coordinator Tommy Singongi tells Q-news that government’s efforts to create employment cannot be enough if it cannot provide an effective enabling environment for the private sector.

Mr Singongi says if there is an effective enabling environment for the private sector to thrive, Zambians will not have to wait for government to create employment in the civil service, but will come up with their own sources of income.

He has also noted the need for the country to seriously diversify its economy by moving away from copper dependency to other resource mobilization avenues.
