Speaker reserves ruling on UPND MPs’ absence

First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Catherine Namugala has reserved ruling on a point of order raised by Lands Minister Jean Kapata on the continued absence from the house of UPND Members of Parliament who were not suspended by the Speaker.

In her point of order Ms Kapata cited members of parliament for Namwala and Monze central Moono Lubezhi and Jack Mwiimbu respectively.

She asked whether the Members of Parliament are in order not to be attending parliament after the Speaker’s ruling allowing them to attend parliament.
