AAZ hopes 2018 budget will be pro-poor

Accountability Advocates Zambia (AAZ) hopes that the 2018 national budget will speak directly to the lives of the people of Zambia.

AAZ Executive Director Chilufya Luchembe has told QTV News that his organization is also expects the 2018 national budget to be in line with the recently launched Seventh National Development Plan if the goals outlined in the plan are to be achieved.

Mr. Luchembe says the government should strive to consult the poor people as opposed to only consulting the elite in formulating the 2018 national budget.

He notes that the contents of the national plan are inspiring and progressive, and hopes they will be well supported in the coming national budgets.
