A Lusaka based clergyman has observed that politics of poverty have infiltrated the church.

Apostolic Leader for Access Church Africa Dr. Bishop Richard Kakuwa says this has largely contributed to the church being compromised and failing to speak with one voice.

He says this is the consequence of taking sides in active politics.

Dr. Kakuwa says the church should go back to the drawing board before it becomes irrelevant to national guidance.

He has told QTV News in an interview that poverty is also in the church TODAY and that this is why some pastors want to associate themselves with politicians forgetting their role and standing in society.

Dr. Kakuwa, who is also Every Home for Christ Regional Director, is concerned that at the pace at which the church is conducting itself, it risks becoming irrelevant to national issues.
