Government says Zambia has continued recording high cervical cancer cases in women.

Ministry of health Spokesperson Dr. Kennedy Malama has told QFM news that Zambia is one of the countries in the world with the high prevalence in new cervical cancer cases.

Dr. Malama adds that breast cancer has also greatly affected women, but reiterates that government has put up stringent measures, of  improving the screening services, which have proven to be helpful in combating the diseases at the early stages.

And Dr. Malama says on the other hand, prostate cancer has continued affecting men, while both men and women are affected by cancer of the anal rectal area.

He says government has introduced cancer screening, and urges especially women to undertake the screening process at the new cancer hospital because it becomes difficult to deal with the scourge in its final stage.

He has urged the public to adapt healthy eating habits, and the reduction in alcohol intake to reduce the chances of being affected by various cancer diseases.
