A consortium of Civil Society Organizations has expressed concern over the continued war of words in the country which it says is retrogressive and cause for worry.

The group consists the Commuters Rights Association of Zambia (CRAZ), Integrated Community Anti-litter Initiative (ICALI) Movement for Economic Empowerment and Democracy (MEED), Bethel Baptist Church (BBC), Network for Young People Against Violence (NYPAV) and Zambian DNA.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Zambian DNA Spokesperson Spuki Mulemwa has called for concerted efforts from all stakeholders to unite the nation which is seemingly sliding into groupings of special interests.

Mr. Mulemwa says it is the responsibility of all stakeholders to tone down and refrain from issuing provocative or inflammatory statements that hold the potential to disrupt peace and divide the nation.
