Nkombo urges ECZ to implement EU Election Observer team recommendations

UPND Parliamentary Chief Whip Garry Nkombo has called on the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to start implementing the 43 recommendations made by the European Union Election Observer Mission in an effort to perfect Zambia’s electoral system.

Mr. Nkombo says there is need for the ECZ to start working on modalities of sharpening electoral system so that future elections are held with less slip-ups.

He says it is very clear that half of the Zambian population mistrusts the electoral body because of the manner they handled last year’s elections, thus the need to start working on modalities of perfecting the electoral system.

Mr. Nkombo has told QTV News that the ECZ has a huge responsibility of ensuring that Zambians are at peace with each other by conducting credible elections.
