Seven Zambian nationals have been arrested by the Zimbabwean authorities for different offences.

Siavonga District Commissioner Lovemore Kanyama who has confirmed the development to QFM News via telephone says the seven were arrested on Sunday for fishing on the Zimbabwean side of Lake Kariba and Copper cable theft.

Mr. Kanyama says out of 7, three were released yesterday and the rest appeared in court today for the offences of failing to observe water boundary on Lake Kariba.

Mr. Kanyama has identified those arrested as Beston Mupota, Charles Shayamunhu, Lloyd Njapau and Visitor Makaza.

He says those released yesterday are Peterson Hakaligonya, Dickson Hamakondo and Survivor Mwiinga.

The Siavonga District Commissioner has since appealed to Zambian fishermen to stop fishing in Zimbabwean water and observe the water boundary on Lake Kariba.
