The Zambia Police Service has cautioned UPND supporters to guard against their conduct whenever they are at Court grounds or risk being arrested and prosecuted.

This comes in wake of the incident at the Lusaka magistrate court yesterday where some UPND cadres booed and harassed National Guidance and Religious Affairs Minister, Godfridah Sumaili after she appeared in Court following a contempt of court allegation against her filed by UPND Leader Hakainde Hichilema.

Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo has warned that those that will be identified to have participated in the fracas that transpired yesterday will be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of the Law.

Ms Katongo has reminded UPND supporters that Court precincts are not places for campaigns, but rather independent premises where every person should be free to go to without expecting any intimidation or harassment.

She says the Police will not tolerate such irresponsible conduct by anyone as it has potential to destabilize the peace in the country.
