CISCA backs Church mother bodies

Bishop MamboCivil Society Constitution Agenda (CISA) has backed the statement issued by the three church mother bodies that Zambia has slipped into dictatorship.

CISCA Chairperson Bishop John Mambo says it is undeniable that there is a leadership crisis in the country.

Bishop Mambo has also castigated those condemning the three church mother bodies for the statement they issued last week.

He says the voice of the church should not be confined to the intensive care unit, but should be heard on many issues affecting the nation.

He says the current happenings in the country are what is making some stakeholders to categorize Zambia as a dictatorship.

Bishop Mambo states that the sooner leaders realize that Zambia is bleeding, the better for the nation.

The CISCA Chairperson was speaking during a news conference in Lusaka this morning on the state of the nation.

And CISCA Vice Chairperson Pamela Chisanga says the ruling Patriotic Front should find a judicial avenue of proving to the opposition UPND that President Edgar Lungu won last year’s elections as a way of settling the rift that exist between the two political parties.

Ms Chisanga has also called for the disbanding of the Ministry of National Guidance and Religious Affairs saying it has failed to perform its intended purpose as seen from the persistent divisions in the country.
