Lusaka Policeman shot dead

A Police officer of Ben Mwiinga Police Post in Lusaka has been shot dead by unknown criminals.

Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo has identified the officer who sustained gunshot wounds in the chest as Sergeant Ludovic Bwalya.

Ms Katongo says the incident occurred yesterday 18^th June, 2017 at about 04:00 hours in Lusaka’s Presidential Housing Initiative (PHI) residential area.

She says the officer was discovered by members of the public who reported having found a body of a male person dressed in a Police uniform.

She explains that Police officers from Bennie Mwiinga Police Post rushed to the scene and discovered that it was the body of their colleague Sergeant Bwalya.

Ms Katongo says the officers rushed the victim to Levy Mwanawasa General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
