Changala disappointed with State house

Civil rights activist Brebner Changala has expressed disappointment that State House denied access to the three church mother bodies who wanted to engage Republican President Edgar Lungu over the incarceration of UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema who is facing a charge of treason.B Changala

Last week during a joint press briefing held by three church mother bodies, namely Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB), Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) and Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ), Archbishop Telesphore Mpundu revealed several attempts to meet President Edgar Lungu to discuss the issue of Mr. Hichilema’s incarceration failed as they could not be given chance to see the President at State house.

Mr. Changala says it is sad and disappointing to note that foreigners are allowed easy access into State house while Zambians are blocked.

He has charged that the failure by the President to meet the three church mother bodies is an insult to the church and the citizens.

Mr Changala has since advised President Edgar Lungu to consider working closely and having time for the citizens rather than prioritizing foreigners.
