Former minister of youth and sport William Harrington has demanded for total transparency in the recruitment of trainers and coaching staff for the national soccer team by Football Association of Zambia (FAZ).

Harrington says there should be no political interference in the appointment of coaches for the national team, but this should a prerogative of the Football Association of Zambia alone.

He says politicians are not the best authority on how football should be managed.

Harrington states that the Football Association of Zambia should start advertising for the position of the coach particularly for the senior national team , and the curriculum vitae of the applicants made public in order for the fans to appreciate the decisions made by FAZ on the appointment of coaches.

Harrington’s comments follow the Chipolopolo’s home defeat to Mozambique on Saturday in the 2019 Cameroon Africa cup qualifiers,a performance which has not pleased most soccer fans.
