Don’t turn parley into circus,UPND MPs told

Fr-Bwalya-MICPatriotic Front Deputy Spokesperson Frank Bwalya says United Party for National Development (UPND) Members of Parliament not to turn Parliament into a circus when the house reconvenes tomorrow.

And Mr. Bwalya says the recent attempt by UPND Members of Parliament to secure a High Court judgment to restrain the Speaker of the National Assembly from punishing them for boycotting President Edgar Lungu’s address to Parliament on March 17, 2017 is a recipe for bad governance.

Mr. Bwalya has reminded the UPND lawmakers that that maturity demands accepting the consequences of one’s actions.

He says UPND Members of Parliament should show maturity and wait for their fate instead of compounding the backlog problem of cases by wasting the time of the courts seeking what he has termed as ill-judgments.

Mr. Bwalya says the failed attempt points to how the UPND would compromise the principle of separation of powers between the three arms of government should they form government.

He says good governance demands strict respect for the separation of powers and autonomy of the three arms of government namely Executive, Parliament and Judiciary.
