Transport and Communication Minister Brian Mushimba has reaffirmed government’s commitment to equitably spread infrastructure development across the country.

Engineer Mushimba says this will be done through the construction of roads, schools, hospitals, and administrative offices in order to create an enabling environment for conducting business.

Speaking during the launch of the Zamtel kwacha at east park shopping mall in Lusaka, Engineer Mushimba says government has a deliberate policy to incentivize private sector investments, to support the expansion of financial services in remote parts of the country.

He has since urged the general public to take keen interest in the use of modern technology and use platforms such as Zambia kwacha in their day to day transaction.

Speaking at the same launch, Zamtel Acting chief executive officer Sydney Mupeta says Zamtel is committed to improving the network in order to give unrivalled customer experience through delivery of high quality services to all its customers.

Mr. Mupeta also says newly launched Zamtel Kwacha, which is a mobile money solution, will contribute significantly to financial inclusion.

And bank of Zambia governor Danny Kalyalya has hailed Zamtel for establishing its own digital financial service which he says will contribute to a robust financial inclusion.
