Former Information and Broadcasting Services Minister Chishimba Kambwili says the ruling PF is becoming undemocratic by stopping debates on how to choose the PF 2021 presidential candidate.

Mr. Kambwili, who is also Roan PF Member of Parliament, says it is unnecessary to start talking about 2021 general elections but rather concentrate on addressing issues that will benefit the majority poor Zambians.

Mr. Kambwili says the endorsements that are going on across the country are unnecessary that might bring division in the country.

Speaking during a media briefing in Lusaka this afternoon, Mr. Kambwili says it is irresponsible for some party officials to declare President Edgar Lungu as its sole candidate for the 2021 general elections instead of following the right procedure.

The former Chief Government Spokesperson states that there is need for party officials to follow the Patriotic Front Constitution which stipulate that’s all the party positions shall be elected at the General Conference of the Party than veer off from the provision of the constitution.

He says the party constitution does not provide that if there is an incumbent president there will be no elections in the next five years.

And Mr. Kambwili has advised President Lungu to be careful of what he has termed as bootlickers who are misleading him into making wrong decisions stating that they are only interested in making money.

He says what is happening in the party is worrying were even some youths at provincial level are insulting senior party officials and nothing is been done to discipline them.

Meanwhile Mr. Kambwili has maintained that he will still remain loyal to the ruling party and President Edgar Lungu.
