The Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) has advised Members of Parliament not to turn parliament into a boxing ring as witnessed in the previous session as the house reopens next week.

FODEP Executive Director Mweenge Chimfwembe says parliament is an institution that defends human rights, hence the need for parliamentarians to put the interest of people first.

He says the expectations from the Members of Parliament are to debate how the decentralization is going to be actualized in the country.

Mr. Chimfwembe notes that with the view of the proposal of making Kabwe as the capital city there is need for broad based consultations.

He says there is need to look at the public conduct.
