PAC questions Govt’s commitment to graft fight

People’s Alliance for Change (PAC) President Andyford Banda says revelations by the Financial Intelligence Center on suspicious financial transactions recorded in 2016 shows the lack of commitment by the PF Government to seal all corruption loopholes.

Mr. Banda says President Edgar Lungu and his administration should simply accept that they lack political will to fight corruption.

He says the fact that the Center reported these cases to the relevant authorities no action was taken, is a clear indication that the government interferes in these matters.

Mr. Banda says for as long as those in authority approach matters of corruption with a sluggish attitude, it will be difficult for the country to completely eradicate corruption.

He states that pronouncements on the fight against corruption should be accompanied by actions which should in turn reflect in the reduction in corruption cases in the country.
