Continued succession wrangles worries Chief Mumena

Chief Mumena of the Kaonde speaking people in North-Western Province has urged his fellow traditional leaders to come up with a lasting solution to continued succession wrangles in some chiefdom.

Recently President Lungu expressed concern over the increasing number of succession disputes in some chiefdom in the country.

Chief Mumena has attributed the increase in such disputes to lack of appreciation of the various principals.

He says every institution has its own principles of engagement, succession and governance which are written hence there is need to ensure that these principles are respected.

Chief Mumena adds that failure to observe customs and cultures is what has become a recipe for most of the succession wrangles in some chiefdoms.
