The Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) says a constituent Assembly is the best way to amend the constitution.
FODEP Executive Director Mweenge Chimfwembe says there is urgent need for government to facilitate for this platform were multi stakeholders can come together and discuss what clauses should be amended.
Mr. Chimfwembe says government should avoid situations where they are accused of handpicking certain articles at the expense of what others would love to see amended.
He says it is important that government resists this temptation and call for a constituent Assembly so that all the citizens participate considering that the constitution is a people’s document.
