Zambia Cooperatives Federation Director General, James Chirwa says there is need for the country to seriously consider moving away from exporting maize to exporting maize finished products.
Mr. Chirwa tells Q news that exporting end products of maize, such as stock feed and mealie meal among others will help in adding value to the crop.
He says there is no need for the country to continue exporting maize as this has been done from time in memorial and has not added much value to the crop.
Mr. Chirwa says exporting maize finished products will not only increase on revenue coming into the country, but will also create employment.
