The opposition Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) has expelled its Vice President Chifumu Banda.
He was suspended in December 2016.
And the FDD has so far raised one million Kwacha (K1, 000, 000) towards the holding of the party national convention.
Briefing journalists in Lusaka following last week’ National Policy Committee, FDD National Chairman Potipher Chungu says the party has met all the catering arrangements for all the party delegates to the convention.
Mr. Chungu says all provincial policy Committees have been tasked to organize transport for the delegates to the convention and have since been given up to June to report progress to the NPC.
And Mr. Chungu says Lawrence Mwelwa who claims to be National Coordinator for the ‘Save FDD Committee’ is not a member of the party.
He says the only connection Mr. Mwelwa has to the party is the fact that he is the husband to FDD Chiengi Member of Parliament Given Katuta.
