UPPZ President Charles Chanda
United, Prosperous and Peaceful Zambia (UPPZ) President Charles Chanda has welcomed President Edgar Lungu’s pronouncements to print the ballot papers for 2021 polls but with reservations.
Mr. Chanda says his party has welcomed this development given the fact that Zambia’s economy is limping.
Mr. Chanda has however questioned why the Head of State is the one who has made that statement when the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) during last year’s polls made it clear that it decides where to print the ballot papers from.
Mr. Chanda says ECZ Director for Elections Priscilla Isaacs is on record saying no one can direct them where to print the ballot papers from.
He says this on its own is creating confusion the political sphere.
