NCP Leader wants parliamentary code of conduct reviewed

peter chandaNew Congress Party President Peter Chanda has proposed that the parliamentary code of conduct should be revised to give powers to the speakers of the National Assembly to take serious action to erring Members of Parliament.

Pastor Chanda says what is happening in the Zambia parliamentary is worrying adding that members of parliament still need to do more to regulate their behavior.

He says the Parliamentary Code of Conduct describes the responsibilities that MPs have as Members of the House and are based on a set of principles but that what MPs are behaving leaves much to be desired.

Pastor Chanda says it is for this reason that he is calling for the review of the Parliamentary Code of Conduct to ensure that the Speaker of the National Assembly is given more powers to deal with such MPs in a tendency of boycotting parliamentary sittings.
