DMMU urged to be ready to deliver relief food in Kaputa

Patriotic Front Kaputa Member of Parliament Maxas Ng’onga says the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU) should be ready to deliver relief food to people in his constituency.

Mr. Ng’onga says despite the country generally recording good rains, it is very likely Kaputa and the surrounding districts of Nsama and Chiengi will need relief food.

He says this is due to the poor rainfall Kaputa district has experienced during the current rainy season which has affected farmers.

Mr Ng’onga says the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit should therefore take note that Kaputa will need relief food in view of the poor rainfall the district has recorded.
