NUPPEZ to join newly created ZATU

The National Union of Public and Private Educators of Zambia (NUPPEZ) says it will not join the newly created Zambia Teachers Union (ZATU) which is as a results of the merger of four unions.

NUPPEZ Vice President Nelson Mwale says this is because his union has different ideologies from those of the four teacher unions.

And Mr. Mwale says NUPPEZ is now a fully registered following the awarding of the certificate of recognition by the Ministry of General Education.

He says this recognition means that the union will right away start representing the workers on various matters that affect them.
