There is no hostility between chiefs and govt – Sichalwe

Chiefs and Traditional Affairs Minister Lawrence Sichalwe says there is no hostility between chiefs and the government as claimed in some sections of society.

Mr. Sichalwe says the issue that is referred to as the source of conflict between the government and the chiefs was sorted out a long time ago.

He explains that the issues that were raised by chiefs pertaining putting customary land on title was clarified and chiefs are happy that it was mere miscommunication.

Mr. Sichalwe states that government cannot afford to be in conflict with chiefs because it values the counsel it gets from the traditional leadership.
