The Non Governmental Organisations’ Coordinating Council (NGOCC) has urged President Edgar Lungu to condemn the criminal behavior of his political advisor Kaizer Zulu.

NGOCC Board Chairperson Sara Longwe recalls that it is only last week when the President spoke out against Gender Based Violence (GBV) during the International Women’s Day march-past and therefore the behavior of Mr Zulu who is alleged to have assaulted a female Police officer at the National Heroes Stadium must be condemned.

Ms Longwe says President Lungu as a UN Women ‘He4She’ Champion must be seen to be protecting women from Gender Based Violence perpetrators such as Mr Zulu.

She further states that Police should know that the absence of physical bodily bruises does not mean assault or GBV was not perpetrated on the female Police officer BY Mr Zulu.

Ms Longwe says the officer could have suffered trauma, which is not visible.

Ms. Longwe says the use of one’s position to oppress subordinates is blatant misuse of authority with impunity and it must be condemned by all supporters of the due process and the rule of law.
