Govt urged to clear IMF suspicion

Government has been challenged to clear the suspicion surrounding its engagement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) relating to the economic recovery programme.

Former Defence George Mpombo says the Zambian people are not clear on the discussions government is having with the IMF.

Dr. Mpombo says government should tell the Zambian people to what extent the IMF will be engaged.

In a telephone interview, Dr. Mpombo has told Qfm News that if need be President Edgar Lungu should be the one to update the nation on the progress being made in the engagements with the IMF as he addresses the nation through Parliament tomorrow.

He says he believes the discussions with the IMF will be very critical to the prosperity of the Zambian economy.
