Chief Mukobela
Chief Mukobela of the Ila speaking people in Namwala district has called on fellow traditional leaders to help sensitize farmers in their chiefdoms to diversify their farming activities.
Chief Mukobela says there is need to encourage farmers to consider growing draught resistant crops so that they are not affected in times of drought.
He says diversification will earn farmers more income and in turn contribute to the country’s economic growth.
Chief Mukobela adds diversification will also help reduce the high levels of poverty in the country as farmers will have all year round income.
