MPs’ language in House worries SACCORD

The Southern African Center for Constructive Resolution of Disputes (SACCORD) has joined in expressing concern over the growing trend of use of abusive and near physical confrontations by Members of Parliament in the Chamber.

SACCORD Executive Director, Boniface Cheembe says the recent altercation in the House and use of abusive language is unacceptable.

Mr. Cheembe says most Zambians look up to lawmakers as role models thus the need for the Members of Parliament to adopt a culture of non violent communication.

He adds that parliamentarians must also exhibit actions that do not threaten the peace of the nation.
