William Chilufya – Hivos Southern Africa Advocacy Officer for Sustainable Diets
Hivos Southern Africa Advocacy Officer for Sustainable Diets William Chilufya has commended Government for banning the importation of some farm produce into Zambia as a way of promoting the growth of the agriculture sector.
Mr. Chilufya says the ban on the importation of some fruits and vegetables will make the diversification agenda a reality.
He says the ban would empower local farmers because they are capable of meeting the local demand.
Mr. Chilufya has since advised farmers in the country to work hard and ensure there is consistence in the supply of fruits and vegetables to the super markets in the country and prove them wrong.
