Police in Lusaka have arrested and charged with murder the boyfriend of the 19 year-old woman identified as Justina Njovu of Kasupe area who was murdered and her body dumped in a well on 1st March, 2017.

Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo says a day before the victim’s body was discovered by members of the public in a well, she was seen being beaten by her boyfriend identified as Isaac Mwakajumba aged 30 at about 23:00 hours near Kondowe Shop along Kasupe road .

She says the suspect of Chazanga compound in Lusaka was apprehended in Chongwe district on 12th March, 2017 where he was hiding at his ex-wife’s home.

In another development, police have apprehended two suspects in connection with the murder of a Taxi driver identified Moses Ganizani Tembo aged 32 of George compound.

Ms Katongo says the suspects were who apprehended from Namwala District in southern province have been identified as Gift Mukube aged 24 and Masauso Banda aged 21 both of Matero township in Lusaka.

She explains that on the fateful day, the Taxi Driver who was driving a Toyota Corrolla registration number ALX 4278 was booked by the criminals on 21st February, 2017, around 22:00 hours, before his body was later discovered in a decomposed state on 26th February, 2017 by children who were playing along Mungwi road in Lusaka.

And in another development, Police in Lusaka have picked a body of a 6-years old girl of Meanwood phase two area.

Ms Katongo says the girl was reported missing yesterday on 14th March, 2017 at about 13:00 hours and was found dead today, 15th March, 2017 at about 06:00 hours near an unfinished house by her father.

Ms Katongo says the body of the victim was found with bruises.
