Share measures to address people’s sufferings, Lungu urged

President Edgar Lungu has been urged to use his address to Parliament this Friday to share measures government intends to put in place to ease the suffering of the Zambian people.

Opposition Alliance for Democracy and Development (ADD) leader Charles Milupi wants President Lungu to state how government will deal with the issue of high prices, poverty and unemployment.

Mr. Milupi is also calling upon President Lungu to use his speech to Parliament to address the issues of governance in the country.

In a telephone interview, Mr. Milupi expressed concern that there is still tension in the country with both the media and the opposition being allegedly under siege.

He states that the ADD would like to see a situation where the Republican Constitution is respected fully and freedoms guaranteed there in enjoyed by all Zambians.

Mr. Milupi adds that the ADD also wants President Lungu to tell the nation through Parliament how his government intends to once and for all resolve the issue of the Barotseland Agreement of 1964.
