Government has reaffirmed its commitment to using farming blocks to attain the green revolution in Zambia.
Agriculture Minister Dora Siliya says government will therefore seek to sale the opportunity that the 10 farming blocks it has established in the ten provinces provide.
Ms. Siliya says the intention is to see investment into the farming blocks as quickly as possible to ensure farming takes place efficiently.
He states that government wants to see at least one of the ten farming blocks quickly turn into a mini agricultural site which integrates both crops and animal husbandry.
Ms. Siliya was speaking this morning when a delegation of Israeli agro investors called on her.
And speaking on behalf of the delegation, Consulting Finance and Development Limited main shareholder, Zeev Zacharin disclosed that his company seeks to investment in the production of among other things potatoes and onions.
Mr. Zacharin says the concept his company wants to bring to Zambia is an integration of crops and animal husbandry which it has established in other countries such as Angola.
