Vice President Inonge Wina has led hundred of youths in commemorating youth day celebrations.
Mrs. Wina who arrived at the Freedom Statue this morning led several dignitaries and government officials in laying wreaths at the statue.
This year’s youth day celebration is being held under the theme Unity and Innovation for a smart Zambia.
And Minister of Youths and Sports Moses Mawere told Journalists that the government has received the communiqué from the youths who converged in Lusaka for a National Youth Forum.
Mr. Mawere says one of the key things that the youths are demanding for is that they want training in various skills.
He says the youths have made it clear that they want to contribute to national development by becoming employers and not employees.
He adds that another issue raised by the youths is that there is a gap between government and youths in terms of information flow.
