Luo takes action against non -performing contractors

Higher Education Minister Professor Nkandu Luo says her ministry has reported contractors who abandoned construction works to the ministry of home affairs for appropriate action.

Professor Lungu says the contractors in question engaged to carry out construction workers at Kasiya business and secretarial college, Northern technical college and Lukashya trades training institute.

And the Minister has disclosed that government has paid most of the contractors engaged to construct and rehabilitate tertiary institutions across the country.

Professor Luo has since expressed optimism that the contractors will do the works as expected and within the stipulated timeframe.

Meanwhile Professor Luo has noted the need to make the country’s education accessible and user friendly.

She states that it should not be difficult for people to access education.
