ZANAMACA welcomes plans to constitute market boards

The Zambia National Marketeers Credit Association (ZANAMACA) has welcomed government’s intention to constitute boards to manage markets and bus stations.

ZANAMACA President Mupila Kameya says the appointment of boards is long overdue.

Mr Kameya says management boards will help bring sanity and transparency in the running of markets.

He has however, appealed to government to consult all the stakeholders before implementing the plan.

Mr Kameya notes that it is only through consultations with various stakeholders that government can come up with the best way of how the boards will work and who should be appointed to the boards.

He has stressed the need to appoint credible people to the boards and not political cadres.

Mr Kameya states that his association is ready to help government actualize the idea of the boards to run markets and bus stations.
