It is wrong to suspend God given rights – Mumba

MMD faction leader Nevers Mumba has charged that it is wrong for government to suspend any God given rights in the absence of the expanded Bill of Rights.

Dr. Mumba says all God given rights must continue to be relevant for as long as people co-exist as creations made in the image of God.

In an interview with QTV News, Dr. Mumba states that Zambians do not need to wait for the enactment of the expanded Bill of Rights for them to enjoy such rights.

He points out that the United Kingdom which does not have a written Constitution is already an example that attests to the fact that God given rights cannot be taken away.

Dr Mumba states that just like the UK relies on Conventions in interpreting what is right and wrong, Zambians too should continue enjoying their rights while they wait for the adoption of expanded Bill of Rights.
