EITA backs ZEMA

EITA National coordinator Mwiya Mwandawande

Extractive Industry Transparency Alliance (EITA) has backed the Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA) for demanding quality Environmental Impact Assessment reports.

EITA National Coordinator Mwiya Mwandawande notes that most Environmental Impact Assessment reports have been very poor of late.

Mr Mwandawande says this has caused a lot of harm to affected communities.

Mr. Mwandawande says it is thus commendable that consultants that carry out environmental impact assessments poor EIA reports resubmit the reports.
