Zambia United Local Authorities Workers’ Union (ZULAWU) president Misheck Nyambose has welcomed the announcement by Local government Minister Vincent Mwale that his ministry is in the process of appointing Management Boards to run markets and bus stations in the country.

Mr. Nyambose says the boards will bring about efficiency and accountability in the running of markets as well as bus stations.

He adds that the appointment of the boards will also improve the collection of revenue.

He notes that politics in the markets and bus stations has negatively affected the operations of councils.

Speaking in an interview with QTV news, Mr. Nyambose is optimistic that the Minister will appoint credible people who will add value to the running of markets and bus stations, and lessen political interference.
