Chief Mazyopa bemoans high poverty levels in Chiefdom

Chief Kwangju Mazyopa of the Ngoni people of eastern province has bemoaned the high poverty levels among the people in his Chiefdom

The traditional leader says it is the duty of government to find ways and means of how poverty levels can be reduced in his chiefdom and the country as a whole.

Chief Mazyopa says government should work closely with traditional leaders in influencing developmental programs that will contribute to the reduction of poverty.

And Chief Mazyopa has appealed to the government to intensify efforts to discourage gender based violence in the country.
