Constitution review should be of the good of the nation – EEP

The Patriotic Front government has been advised not to concentrate more on clauses that appear to be beneficial to it in reviewing amendments made to the Constitution.

Economic and Equity Party(EEP) president Chilufya Tayali notes that there are many lacunas that have been identified in Republic Constitution following amendments made to the document last year.

Mr. Tayali says his party holds the position that it is only just and fair that the review process takes into consideration all lacunas that have been identified.

In an interview with QTV News, Mr. Tayali says Zambia cannot afford to leave the Constitution in its current form when the country has had issues with how some of its provisions have been couched.

He says this is why it is important that government keeps in mind that the review of the Constitution should be for the good of the whole nation.
