The Resident Doctors Association of Zambia (RDAZ) is concerned that the meeting it had with government on the concerns raised by doctors that almost led to a strike has not yielded any tangible results.
RDAZ President Dr. Francis Mupeta explains that what the Doctors were asking for was something within government’s reach such as the normalization of salaries, settling arrears, putting some of its members on the payroll among other entitlements.
He says government is obliged to pay workers, and should therefore honor its obligation especially after the dialogue meeting.
Dr. Mupeta says there’re a number of things that are frustrating the doctors forcing them to seek opportunities from elsewhere.
