Former Information and Broadcasting Services Minister Chishimba Kambwili has proposed the redrafting of the Access to Information Bill.

Mr Kambwili says the ministry of justice can move Cabinet to have the Access to information bill redrafted before being tabled in Parliament.

He however, states that a successful referendum in 2016 would have been a better ad easier way of having legislation on access to information.

Mr Kambwili has told QTV News that this is because this legislation would have been part of the country’s Supreme law.

He however, believes that not all hope is lost for Zambia to have the Access to Information law.

Dr. Kambwili states that as things stands the responsibility of ensuring that Zambia has an Access to Information law lies with the Ministry of Justice.
